Our Community

Community safety starts with participation.

Sandton CPF brings residents, businesses, SAPS and community-safety partners together through our four geographical sectors, community programmes and safety forums.

How We Work

Local participation. Precinct-wide collaboration.

Community policing works best when communities are informed, organised and actively engaged with SAPS.

Sandton CPF creates structured opportunities for residents, businesses and community-safety stakeholders to engage with SAPS, raise local concerns and participate in community safety. This takes place through our four geographical sectors, community programmes, safety partnerships and other CPF activities across the precinct.

Four Sectors

Local structures connecting communities with the CPF and SAPS on crime, policing and safety matters affecting their areas.

Community Programmes

Opportunities for volunteers to contribute through Community in Blue, Victim Empowerment and other community-safety activities.

Safety Partnerships

Collaboration with SAPS, security stakeholders and other partners strengthens information sharing and coordinated community-safety efforts.

Community Participation

Residents and businesses can attend meetings, raise concerns, volunteer their time and support local safety initiatives.

Our Four Sectors

Your local CPF community.

The Sandton policing precinct is divided into four geographical sectors, helping bring policing and community engagement closer to the communities they serve.

Each sector provides a local platform for residents, businesses and other stakeholders to engage with the CPF and SAPS about crime, policing and community-safety matters affecting their area. Sector meetings also provide an opportunity to raise local concerns, share information and participate in community-safety initiatives.

Victim Support

Victim Empowerment Programme

Supporting people affected by crime and traumatic incidents.

The Sandton CPF Victim Empowerment Programme provides initial emotional support and practical assistance to victims of crime and people affected by traumatic incidents. Our trained volunteers offer reassurance, compassion and guidance during difficult situations, and help connect individuals with appropriate professional services where further assistance is required.

Our volunteers are not psychologists or professional counsellors. Their role is to provide initial support, treat those affected with dignity, care and respect, and facilitate referrals to qualified professionals when necessary.

Providing compassionate initial emotional support, practical assistance and referrals to appropriate professional services for people affected by crime and traumatic incidents.

Community Volunteers

Community in Blue

Community volunteers helping strengthen visibility, observation, reporting and participation in community safety across the Sandton policing precinct.

Community in Blue provides a structured way for community volunteers to participate in safety activities in support of the CPF and SAPS.

Volunteers participate in activities appropriate to their training, experience and approved responsibilities. These may include visible patrols, observation, reporting and community-safety initiatives. Members who wish to undertake additional responsibilities, including community response, may require further training and approval.

Patrollers

Community volunteers who support visible patrols, observation, reporting and approved community-safety activities in coordination with the CPF.

Community Responders

Appropriately trained and authorised volunteers who may assist with specific incident-response and community-support activities within the scope of their training and CPF procedures.

Through regular engagement and information sharing, we strengthen collaboration and support coordinated community-safety initiatives.

This collaboration helps improve communication and situational awareness while supporting coordinated community-safety efforts across the precinct.

Information Sharing

Sharing relevant crime information, reported incidents, emerging trends and community-safety concerns to improve awareness and support informed decision-making.
